Gillian Ayres ‘Aeolus’- walker gallery, mark making painting
Aeolus by Gillian Ayres links
closely to our current exploration of mark making in painting. She has refined
techniques that I have previously experimented with, such as the use of
layering paint on more paint. I love the texture she creates from the heavy
layers of paint used, this was a suggestion from improvement that I received in
the group crit and can now relate this to Ayres work. These abstract paintings
are very free and expressive.
